Building (O&M) Manuals HEALTH AND SAFETY FILES

Introduction

What is a Health and Safety File?

For any building / structure newly constructed or having gone through significant extension, remodelling or refurbishment, a Health and Safety File includes essential health and safety related information which will be required by anyone carrying out future repair and maintenance work in that building or structure.

Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM Regulations) require that a Health and Safety File is prepared for any project which involves more than one contractor.

As well as with commercial projects, this requirement also applies to domestic client projects.

Information for Health and Safety File is provided by the Principal Contractor, other specialist sub-contractors and designers involved in the project.

Safescope Approach

At Safescope we assist construction companies particularly Principal Contractors in preparation of Health and Safety File information for their projects.

We specialise in CDM and construction health and safety. We have a thorough understanding of construction and building operations and maintenance requirements, which helps us in providing accurate and robust Health and Safety File information in a cost-effective manner.

We have developed a highly professional, technically sounds, experienced and dedicated in-house team for production of Health and Safety File information and other handover documentation. We regularly seek assistance from qualified and experienced civil, mechanical and electrical engineers to help us produce technically sound Health and Safety File information, where necessary.
